Release archives. Prebuilt archives for x86-64 and ARM64 Linux and macOS are on the GitHub Releases page .

1. Download the archive for your machine and SHA256SUMS.
2. Compare the archive’s checksum with its entry in SHA256SUMS: use sha256sum on Linux or shasum -a 256 on macOS.
3. Extract it. The versioned top-level directory holds the editor, the configuration example, and complete licence material.

The macOS executables are unsigned and not notarized.

From crates.io. You need Rust 1.88 or newer and a C compiler; the bundled tree-sitter grammars are built from C source during the install.

cargo install runyte --locked
runyte README.md

This installs the runyte editor executable. Keep --locked: without it, Cargo ignores the dependency versions this release was tested with and re-resolves to the newest compatible ones. That can pull in a crate needing a newer toolchain than Runyte does, and the install then fails naming a transitive dependency you have never heard of.
